Arteaga Latam was founded on January 9, 2013, with the vision of becoming the first private organization in Colombia dedicated to driving sustainable development through synapse—connecting public and private sectors and strengthening institutions. From the very beginning, we counted on the support of the National Consulting Center (CNC), the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO), and a network of national and international partners who saw in Arteaga Latam a strategic ally for advancing their development goals.

Our work is grounded in three core pillars:

• Knowledge Management, to identify challenges and opportunities;
• Sustainable Relationship Building, to create spaces for dialogue and collaboration; and
• Shared Value Creation, guided by the belief that every individual can be an agent of change.

From the start, we have advocated for the extractive sector as a key driver of development. This approach quickly positioned Arteaga Latam as a leader in the field, spearheading—alongside CNC and Mundo Minero magazine—the country’s only syndicated study on the mining sector: Brújula Minera. Building on its success, we later applied the same model to the oil & gas sector with the launch of the Barómetro Petrolero.

Additionally, as MERCO’s representative in Colombia until 2018, we led a significant methodological expansion that strengthened its position in the country. Building on this experience, we created the Private Social Investment Index (IISP), now the Private Social and environmental Investment Index, which assesses the quality of private sector investments and has become a benchmark for private social  and environmentalinvestment management in Colombia.

We also led the successful implementation of Plan Buriticá, a strategic inter-agency initiative that played a key role in helping the municipality transition from the chaos of illegal mining to a legal and regulated framework.

On gender equity, we have designed and implemented strategies that promote women’s inclusion in regions with limited opportunities—advancing their participation in economic, social, political, and cultural spheres, closing gender gaps, and empowering women as agents of sustainable development.
